Getting our Body ready - Run your Race!

It is very important to prepare your body for mission work.  This is different task depending on who we are.  Some of us will want to lose weight, others will want to build strength.  Wherever your body is at is where you need to start.  No sense at all looking back at the mistakes that have been made - over eating, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, etc.
One book that has helped me feel less sorry for myself and more empowered is the book "No Finish Line" by Marla Runyon.  She was an Olympic runner.  An awesome inspiration  because she did not let the long list of reasons the world gave her to stop - including her blindness.  In the book she talks about how while running she couldn't see the other runners.  She would just run her best and then find out later how it all turned out!  We need to do the same as we prepare our bodies.  Do not look to the "runner" on the left or the right, but look to your own body and what it needs to be ready. Start today, stay in your lane, and run your race!

Hebrews 12:1-2a  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
