Children at VBS |
Saturday was such a great day. We went to the church to have VBS
with the kids. Rita told the story of Jonah and the whale. We sang
"this little light of mine" and "Jesus loves me." it was such a
great experience. After the lesson we did crafts with the fifty plus
kids that showed up. The kids decorated fishes and crosses. Glitter was
everywhere but the kids were having such a great time. We brought out
bubbles and punchy balloons and the kids went wild. Pastor Pedro
closed the VBS with a prayer and we cleaned up to leave. That afternoon
we held an event for the teens from the surrounding churches. The local
firemen came to teach the youth what to do in an emergency. This is the
first of a series of classes the we supplied from them.
We closed the evening with a birthday dinner for Beth.
This was such a blessed day. From Jessie reporting for the team :)

Team in Chincha! |
Awesome pictures. Wish I could have been there! Looks and sounds like you all have been blessed by being in Chincha and I am absolutely certain your being there has been a blessing to them too! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us here at home. Blessings and peace to each and everyone one of you. Thanks again for being a blessing to others and being the hands and feet of Christ in Peru. Hugs and love always- a fellow VIM member that was there in thought and spirit. (Kathy Vaughan)
ReplyDeleteLook at all those children! Amazing! God brings this team and they will come. I sense a real hunger and thirst for the things of God. May the children see Jesus in each of you and know HIs love though the care and instruction you provide.
ReplyDeleteThank you God for this team, impacting lives with the light and love of Jesus...as practical as safety and as beautiful as bubbles! Praying for your safe, peaceful wrap up and journey home!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!!
